PRICING

Oil portrait pricing starts at $4,500.  Drawing prices start at $1,500.  Prices are a starting point and can be adjusted according to size and background details.

A 50% deposit is due at the commencement of the portrait. The balance is due upon completion.

My prices reflect a time intensive, in depth process that captures many aspects of the subject’s personality. While I do use photographs as a reference for structure and composition, much of the work is done from actual sittings with the subject. I believe this is the only way to truly capture the depth of expression and essence of the individual.

My process begins with a discussion regarding the size and setting of the portrait. Once determined, photos are taken until a pose and expression are agreed upon. Thereafter, a number of  live sittings will be scheduled. I can only give an approximate time of completion because my process is intuitive and requires time and patience. In addition, oil painting requires drying time between layers in order to maximize the richness and opacity of the medium.
